Seachtain na Gaeilge will be celebrated in Scoil Bhríde during the week of 7th -11th March. The children will participate in many activities including céilí, tráth na gceist, drama, music, art and are encouraged to speak Irish as much as possible.
On Friday 11th March, the children dress in green.. During the week the school will be decorated in all shades of green adding a nice cultural atmosphere to the corridors.
We ask parents to encourage your child to speak the ‘cúpla focal’ at home!
A fun-filled cultural week is guaranteed for all!
Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Language Week) is an international Irish language festival and one of the biggest celebrations of our native language and culture that takes place each year in Ireland and in many other countries.
Although ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ translates as ‘Irish Language Week’, the festival runs for 2 weeks (7th – 20th March 2016).
The festival gives an opportunity to everyone to enjoy Irish, whether you are a fluent speaker, learner or have a cúpla focal, with a calendar of entertaining and fun events for every type of interest and every age group .
